Estimator, Exhibits, Chicago




Our client is a Chicago based exhibit production firm offering custom and rental exhibit solutions. They have an immediate need for an industry experienced estimator to provide timely and accurate estimates of exhibit construction, taking into account company production methods and labor and material costs.

Requirements/Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce timely and accurate estimates from floor plans, sketches, models, renderings, oral/written descriptions, and other sources, breaking down projects into components
  • Keep abreast of changes in production methods, material, labor costs, and other standards
  • Evaluate feasibility of meeting client requirements
  • Leading meetings with internal teams to review design finishes, timelines, show services and client expectations
  • Create proposals for custom and rental exhibits along with show services to outline options and pricing
  • Create Purchase Orders for custom and rental exhibits along with show services (as required) in order to provide clarity for final designs, finishes, services, vendors and expectations
  • Create and includes accurate project timelines in proposals and purchase orders in order to meet strict deadlines based on the type of project and current production workload
  • rovides revisions to proposals, purchase orders, and timelines within a timely manner
  • Partners with Account Executive/Account Manager to ensure that Purchase orders are signed per due date and submitted to accounting department for payment
  • Communicates with and provides support to the Project Manager throughout the project to track additional costs or overages that occur during production
  • Creates Final Purchase Orders for additional billing of show services, and damage or loss
  • Partnering with Accounting department to reconcile all costs in jobs in order to close and provide accurate commissions

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Manufacturing experience with a custom exhibit house
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of all phases of exhibit design, production, and of prices and standards
  • Applying methods for increased departmental efficiencies
  • Good communication skills and ability to extract pertinent data from oral, written information, and standard visual sources
  • Strong service orientation and cost consciousness
  • Ability to operate under severe time constraints
  • Vendor relationship management
  • Knowledge of all common exhibit materials
  • Strong Windows/Microsoft Office Suite experience

Location: Chicago

Salary: $50K-$65K
