Fabrication Manager, Exhibits, Dallas

Our client is a market leader trade show and event marketing industry. They are seeking a a Fabrication Manager to join their team. This position is responsible for team development (hiring, etc) appraising, coaching, training, and mentoring the fabrication and production staff. Additionally, the role includes managing the day-to-day activities of the fabrication department for all in-house and/or job site productions.

Building and maintaining relationships with clients and working closely with show teams to deliver solutions on time and within budget is a integral part of the role.



  • Directly manages union and non-union personnel
  • Prioritize workloads of staff, review and/or prepare all daily labor calls for fabrication department for both warehouse and show-site
  • Allocate labor appropriately to jobs, assign fabrication systems personnel for tradeshows and miscellaneous
  • Oversee all fabrication production
  • Determine when out of town supervisory support is needed
  • Working knowledge of all related production departments
  • Review and distribute all fabrication production paperwork
  • Price and estimate costs for sales team as required
  • Plan and cost projects
  • Periodically check all job sites for work quality, efficiency, cleanliness, and safety
  • Examine, maintain, and improve direct and indirect costs
  • Complete annual fabrication department inventory, control all fabrication purchasing procedures and material write offs
  • Recommend capital expenditures for the fabrication department
  • Determine equipment shortages and locate additional equipment
  • Coordinate equipment shipping with other branches, and schedule trucks
  • Local and regional travel up to twenty-five percent
  • Create and follow-up meeting agendas



  • Five years successful experience managing crews in the Tradeshow/Exhibits Industry
  • Five years of Production/Fabrication or comparable carpentry or warehouse management and/or inventory control experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of a carpenters shop and a graphics department
  • Excellent time management, project management, leadership and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of the MS Outlook, MS Excel ,and MS Word
  • Ability to interpret plans and diagrams
  • Proven experience working in environments that are usually loud and subject to extreme hot or cold temperatures
  • Working under tight and changing deadlines



  • Bachelor's degree or trade certification
  • Six Sigma certification
