CAD Detailing Manager, Exhibits, Midwest




This organization has established itself as a leading producer of exhibits, environments and events. Their portfolio of work is evidence of the successful relationships they create with their clients Due to growth they are seeking a Detailing Manager to ensure client expectations and company objectives are met by ensuring efficiency throughout the exhibit fabrication process.

Requirements/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure detailing operation performs to meet drawing demands according to quality standards
  • Review speculative projects to assist with feasibility, lead times, use of materials
  • Facilitate meetings to review and ensure that client and project objectives are met
  • Prioritize and schedule incoming detailing requests
  • Establish drawing standards and practices, including accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Support the estimating function through vendor relationship development
  • Identify outside vendors to meet research and development needs
  • Procure estimates from outside vendors
  • Assist personnel in meeting goals, supervising as needed
  • Prepare drawings and assist in estimating as needed and when workloads are high
  • Review completed drawings
  • Specify material, hardware, electrical/lighting specifications, building techniques in accordance with customer requirements, design intent, and estimated price
  • Keep record of materials specified for future reference and to ensure the project meets the estimate
  • Maintain job manifest and keeping spec book up-to-date

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years detailing experience in the trade show industry
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • CAD program operarating proficiency with 3D modeling experience
  • Two years post secondary experience or higher
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Router-sim is a plus
  • Experience in exhibits fabrication, trade show fabrication, architectural millwork, high-end cabinetry or interior build out is
  • Hands-on experience with shop fabrication techniques, equipment, and processes
  • problem solving skills, math skills, and mechanical ability
  • effective interpersonal communications skills including listening, providing feedback for clarification, and negotiation
  • Ability to prioritize in order to meet time-sensitive deadlines

Location: Midwest

Salary: $70K - $85K DOE
